I feel so honored to have inspired young and old

Journey of Reflections by Sara Kramer

I feel so honored to have inspired young and old with my announcement of my “Reflections Series”. It has not gone unnoticed, I have seen all your work. This made me reflect on those that have inspired me. Flipping through all the many memories.

Marilyin Monroe February 2012

Marilyn Monroe by Sara Kramer

Kat Von D was my first push to pick up my pencil again. She caught my eye on the way she could draw portraits. I found myself so inspired with her artistic ability that when I started sketching various portraits I wanted them to look real.

I had the opportunity to meet Kat Von D for a few minutes, the first thing she noticed was my first portrait I had completed it was of Marilyn Monroe that I had tattooed on my upper arm. Now those of you that know me you know I am normally cool, chill, relaxed but I got a little starstruck. Well I fumbled through our conversion. Kat Von D being the kick ass person she is, was so nice and inspirational.

Another visual artist that inspires me is Andy Warhol. One statement that has always stuck with me,“Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”

I was able to absorb some of  Andy Warhol’s work this past December at the Portland Art Museum.  My favorite artwork of his are the ones that is rarely seen or have they? I am still in awe.

We are all inspired by other artists and I feel honored to have inspired some of you.

Love & Peace
